Associate Engagement Manager

The Vokal Associate Engagement Manager (AEM) is a highly organized individual with a strong personality looking to grow their skills as a digital strategist. The AEM learns by doing and supports our Engagement Managers by executing on the day-to-day workings of our many projects. All the while, the AEM gains the knowledge and experience necessary to grow into the Engagement Management team, ultimately taking on accounts and relationships of their own.

Vokal’s Engagement Managers develop and grow client relationships and drive business growth through innovative digital experiences. They are the link that connects Vokal to our clients - facilitating communication between external stakeholders and internal teams, which is essential. The Engagement Manager knows how to represent Vokal’s ideas as strongly as they can represent our clients’ wishes. At the end of the day, they help lead their team to identify and implement amazing, ground-breaking solutions that solve our client’s business challenges. They build and foster relationships, help generate growth for Vokal and our clients, and put the team in a position to deliver exceptional digital solutions.

Position Responsibilities

  • Act as Scrum Master on all assigned projects ensuring that Scrum is in place and understood within a project team
  • Coordinate with the internal project teams to ensure meetings happen and are run efficiently
  • Maintain and report on project timelines, budgets, resources, margins, and other project performance indicators
  • Work with the Engagement Manager to act as an ambassador of the client’s business goals and engagement KPIs throughout the project process
  • Be in tune with key engagement indicators including client satisfaction, business goals, sales targets, profitability, and strategic objectives in assigned engagements
  • Operate as a point of contact for any and all matters specific to our clients and their projects
  • Identify and escalate any project issues to the Engagement Manager in a timely manner
  • Work with the Engagement Manager to create and deliver thoughtful and detailed Statements of Work, and ensure the client’s understanding and signature
  • Continually set appropriate project expectations for the client’s stakeholders and our internal teams
  • Collaborate with internal project teams to assemble materials and people needed to ensure successful presentation to the client

Required Experience

  • 1-3 years experience in consulting or digital client management
  • Experience working with the Agile Methodology (Scrum a plus)
  • Experience articulating project status, timelines and budgets, and resetting expectations where necessary
  • Experience writing Statements of Work or other client-facing contracts
  • Experience building trust and partnerships with interdisciplinary teams of digital designers, engineers, and external clients and their stakeholders

  • Good listening skills and the ability to identify strategic client needs during status calls, demos, and conversations
  • Comfort interacting with a client’s stakeholders including C-level executives
  • A personality geared for participating in and leading presentations, meetings, and collaborative sessions
  • Willing to travel and be on site with clients
  • Ability to understand how different areas of the organization, and external trends relate to one another
